You just got beautiful new hardwood flooring installed in your home -- great for you! We know you're excited, but if you want to preserve its beauty then you are going to have to take precautions in order to avoid scratches from forming on your floors. So with that said, here are a few tips to prevent scratches from vandalizing your floor and keep them looking as new as possible -- even if they already have a few years of age in them!

Tip #1: If you have large, immovable furniture, cut out a small piece of cardboard and place it under the furniture's legs. This will do wonders in preventing dents.

Tip #2: If you're buying brand new tables and chairs, be sure to buy ones with rubber pads underneath. Rubber pads work wonders in preventing scratches especially when chairs are moving up and about.

Tip #3: Refrain from dragging furniture and appliances whenever you have to move them. As much as possible, lift the piece of furniture with someone else's assistance. If it's too heavy for you, consider getting a device with wheels to move it.

Tip #4: If you're going to buy a piece of furniture that you're sure to move around a lot, consider getting a variation of it that has wheels attached to the legs.

These are simple tips that you can implement today to take good care of your hardwood floors. With simple maintenance, you can certainly prevent scratches and dents from ruining your brand new installation and keep them beautifying your home for years on end.

Most people tend to believe that bathrooms are the coldest rooms in any given house. However, this is not always the case if one decides to invest in some fitted bathroom furniture. This way, it is easy to create a warm and homely bathroom that is unique with the modern bathroom furniture. There are limitless options as far as making purchases for the fitted bathroom furniture given all the products that have been availed in the markets. There are the cabinets for example, that help you remove all the clutter in the bathroom by giving you storage for laundry, towels as well as the beauty products. Some of these cabinets also come with a built in sink that goes a long way to give that sophisticated look.

Colonial American bathrooms featured marble or ceramic tile in the homes of those who were sufficiently well-to-do to afford them. Less wealthy Americans tiled floors and wainscoting and left the upper parts of walls to be painted with oils or covered with decorative paper.
