You just got beautiful new hardwood flooring installed in your home -- great for you! We know you're excited, but if you want to preserve its beauty then you are going to have to take precautions in order to avoid scratches from forming on your floors. So with that said, here are a few tips to prevent scratches from vandalizing your floor and keep them looking as new as possible -- even if they already have a few years of age in them!

Tip #1: If you have large, immovable furniture, cut out a small piece of cardboard and place it under the furniture's legs. This will do wonders in preventing dents.

Tip #2: If you're buying brand new tables and chairs, be sure to buy ones with rubber pads underneath. Rubber pads work wonders in preventing scratches especially when chairs are moving up and about.

Tip #3: Refrain from dragging furniture and appliances whenever you have to move them. As much as possible, lift the piece of furniture with someone else's assistance. If it's too heavy for you, consider getting a device with wheels to move it.

Tip #4: If you're going to buy a piece of furniture that you're sure to move around a lot, consider getting a variation of it that has wheels attached to the legs.

These are simple tips that you can implement today to take good care of your hardwood floors. With simple maintenance, you can certainly prevent scratches and dents from ruining your brand new installation and keep them beautifying your home for years on end.

Whether you like it or not, renovations = mess. We all like to keep our homes to our usually level of tidiness, but let's face facts - if you maintained your usual standards you'd be spending more time cleaning and tidying than actually renovating! Along the way there are a few tricks and ways of thinking that can help ease the frustration and help keep even a little of your sanity.

Many people these days are reinvesting in their homes by remodeling or renovating them. A great way to add lasting beauty and gain curb appeal, is to rework or redo the exterior of the house. There are literally hundreds of options when it comes to changing the look of your home. Roofing, windows, trims, wall coverings... the list is endless. One popular option is vinyl siding.

If you are not too impressed with your house when you come home, it could be because of your garage doors. They frame a big part of your house and set the mood of it too. If your system in good shape, it will boost the look of the rest of your house too.
