You just got beautiful new hardwood flooring installed in your home -- great for you! We know you're excited, but if you want to preserve its beauty then you are going to have to take precautions in order to avoid scratches from forming on your floors. So with that said, here are a few tips to prevent scratches from vandalizing your floor and keep them looking as new as possible -- even if they already have a few years of age in them!

Tip #1: If you have large, immovable furniture, cut out a small piece of cardboard and place it under the furniture's legs. This will do wonders in preventing dents.

Tip #2: If you're buying brand new tables and chairs, be sure to buy ones with rubber pads underneath. Rubber pads work wonders in preventing scratches especially when chairs are moving up and about.

Tip #3: Refrain from dragging furniture and appliances whenever you have to move them. As much as possible, lift the piece of furniture with someone else's assistance. If it's too heavy for you, consider getting a device with wheels to move it.

Tip #4: If you're going to buy a piece of furniture that you're sure to move around a lot, consider getting a variation of it that has wheels attached to the legs.

These are simple tips that you can implement today to take good care of your hardwood floors. With simple maintenance, you can certainly prevent scratches and dents from ruining your brand new installation and keep them beautifying your home for years on end.

Keeping up on cleaning with your outdoor fountains will ensure that they continue looking at operating their best. Not to mention, a good cleaning will keep birds and butterflies that stop to take a drink from getting sick. Maintaining water fountains is certainly not difficult, especially for small varieties.

No matter how beautiful a garden already is, it is always possible to transform it into something even more spectacular. There are clearly many different ways that this can be done, but one of the best ways is with items such as iron trellises, gazebos and arbors. These items are easy to find and can add a lot of appeal to any garden. They can often be set up in just a few minutes time and be making a dramatic difference in the feel of a garden quickly.

Climate often dictates outdoor decorating. Use micro climate zones to get the most from an area. Use fire to create focal points and aesthetic emphasis.
