Resin wall coatings are over time being used for external and internal finishes to walls. This are easy to use powder substances mixed with water to form a paste. They give good aesthetics as far as colors and patterns are concerned. Most of this pastes can be formed to give different surfaces like brickwork, timber, fibre glass finishes. Timber, plaster, chipboard, concrete, metal, medium density fibre board, polystyrene take this coatings.

Preparation for applying resin wall coatings is to make surfaces relatively smooth. Most walls have plaster on the external surface. First plaster the wall normally. Use a wooden float to smoothen the plaster. Float it by doing circular motions. this allows the plaster to be rough yet straight and without bumps. Use a straight edge to confirm straightness and plumbness. Other surfaces wipe and remove all dirt with a soft brush and water to clean.

Most resin wall coatings should be applied in one single coat. Since the coat is homogeneously colored, it will be the same after application. Mix the paste with water if it is not premixed. Use a wooden float to spread initially for a rough texture. Use up and down strokes. To give a rougher texture add some granules into the paste before spreading. Do up and down strokes to create recesses into the pastes. Continue the stokes to the whole wall.

When applying resin coats to walls, make a thickness of between two to three millimeters. When making brickwork patterns use masting tape to mark out the joints both vertical and horizontal. apply the paste and use a steel float with horizontal strokes as a built up wall. After smoothening the whole wall strip off the tape. This will expose joints to show a brickwork texture. This coatings don't require curing and dry between four to six hours.

Gardening is a common pastime among a lot of Americans, usually pursued because of its aesthetic value. The scale upon which it is practiced commonly ranges from fruit orchards to residential lawns and a whole block of shrubs, trees and herbaceous plants. To start off gardening, small plants are normally placed in small containers, like a Topsy Turvy, and tended to while they grow inside or outside the house.

Once again I would like to remind everyone that old household furniture and other items that have outlived their original purpose can be restored to find a new life in an outdoor living area such as a patio, deck, poolside lounge or cottage. A little imagination, a little work and an eye for the end product are the only requirements. In Part One of this series I explained my plan to salvage and refurbish an old enameled steel-top table to create a serving table for the dining area of my patio. Here, in Part Two, I will outline my next project - re-inventing an old shop workbench as a sit-up counter for my poolside refreshment area.

Weeping Norway Spruce is an exotic evergreen shrub that makes a great focal point in any landscape. The graceful weeping branches with the dark green needles will give your landscape beauty and color when most other shrubs have no leaves...
